We love raspberries!

On Saturday, we went raspberry picking, a favorite Geneva fall activity. I was on a mission to pick enough raspberries to satiate my desire for a winter's worth of frozen raspberries (smoothies, baby). Asia was just so excited and adorable and tried her best to keep her basket as full as mine. Tom didn't make any progress as long as Evan was in the baby bjorn taking out and eating each berry put into the basket.

Tom's Birthday Present

Tom got acrylic paints from the kids for his birthday. We left all his art supplies in the US when we moved so he hasn't painted for a long time. His first project was canvases for the kids' room. During FHE, we rotated the canvases between Tom, Asia and me, twice. And this is what we came up with...

Tom Turns Twenty-nine!

I was going to post the first pic of my sweet hubbie on his birthday. But then I knew you'd all prefer to see the real Tom on his birthday, the one we all know and love.

Tom's birthday

On Tom's birthday, he went white water rafting with the youth in our ward. When he got back, we went out for ice cream with Mateo and kids. That evening, we put the kids to bed and for the first time in our marriage we did a candle lit dinner at home. The next day, we had the Geneva de Guzmans over for lunch (Angie's white chicken chili soup was a hit!) and cake.

Asia's first day of pre-school

Asia started pre-school a few weeks ago. Her first day was nice and smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was totally okay! She goes two mornings a week. Her school is in French, so apparently she is super quiet at school...until I come to pick her up and she starts chatting away, and the teachers are amazed that she actually talks. She is into asking how to say the names of things in French, so her vocab is increasing little by little.

Our Labor Day Weekend Highlights

With Onion Days to cap it all off, Labor Day weekend at the Ben and Michelle household was jam packed! It started off with an end of summer fling at Seven Peaks with Maren and Marcello. Next came an extra-ordinary marathon of "The Tick" with Lucy and Corey and our superhero alter egos. Saturday we watched BYU trounce one of Michelle's hometown teams (University of Northern Iowa). And on the way home today Marcus gave Beck his first lesson on how to beat the video game.
