Honest boy

For my birthday Annie's brother gave me the "Rich Dad Poor Dad" series on cd. I opened it up and Annie asked what it was so I said "It's rich dad poor dad," and Jack responded, "oh, rich dad poor Josh." Out of the mouths of babes come things that confound the wise and put those who think they're wise in their place.

How to post

Posting is cake. Just send an email to that secret email address Tom provided (no, I'm not going to put it here, do you want the whole world/ward posting to our exclusive blog?) The subject becomes the post title, the body text becomes the post text, and any attached pictures automatically post as well.

Annie's cute kiddies

Thought you all needed some more Pictures of my kids.  Just so you know we are blessing Lucy the fast sunday in November. I think it is Nov 4.  You all are welcome.  love ya
Also, Jack had to get stitches playing on Brigham's scooter.  He looks like he's happy about it.  She doesn't have a bow on in the one picture but I loved her face.

Matthew's Star Wars Party

Shauna

Hello from Guyana

Greetings from Guyana. We spent four days in Trinidad doing training and other work. Now we are doing the same thing here. I am sort of getting used to hearing islanders speak English instead of Spanish. Mostly this is to see if the electronic GME will accept me. It doesn't like my posted comments, so I will try this mode.

Lucy, I loved your article. Thanks
Love,
Dad/Grandpa/Elder Hiatt

Benny's update

Crazy times and tough decisions
I am in what is feasibly my final semester of college and if all goes well then I can graduate with a baccalaureate degree in Digital Media with an emphasis in 3D animation.
I  hope to be making commercials or movies of some sort using the art of 3D.
Currently I am working with the rest of the 10th ward at the shop of Mark Wadsworth creating furniture for the Paul Mitchell cosmetology schools I also have a job at UVSC where I am required to do my homework and that the students can all find the "any" key without to much grief.
The tough decision involves a desire to wave bye bye to this school for good, but the federal government apparently felt that I deserved a bit of money so they have awarded me funds for this semester and next semester. Now Michelle and I are in a dilemma over whether to get out or use one last free semester to increase my skills and maybe try out scuba diving and golf. Alas I think we will have to take this to the Lord and see what he says we should do, and then do it.
Michelle is doing well more or less one of her birthday wishes was to have a full night of sleep and I am going to provide her with this if it takes me 30 or 40 years. She does much for our little family such as keeping Beck alive and finding clever ways to supplement my meager income. Michelle had a great time in the professional world and caused many of her employers to beg her to stay because they knew that replacing someone of her brilliant quality and dedication would be nigh impossible but she felt that she was needed by our son so she bid them ado and has become an amazing mother even though she would love to get back into the work force.
Beck is growing well he recently went in for some immunity boosters and hardly cried he is developing in the Hiatt style in that he is much longer then he is round which causes us some trouble because his clothes are long and loose. He has a blood blister on the side of his nose that occasionally pops open and makes him look a little like Freddy Kruger and then Michelle has to hold a tissue on the spot for a long time to try and stop the bleeding, his doctor referred us to a dermatologist in Pleasant Grove so we will go see what he recommends.
the deer were so grateful for our garden that they told all of their friends and now they sit about waiting for apples to drop for their pleasure. it was pretty funny because we had one weed in our garden and many squash and the deer were kind enough to carefully eat around the weed and not trample it so that we have all of these squash plants missing their leaves and gourds surrounding this untouched beautiful weed. So at last count we have 2 goats 12 deer and two giant turkeys.
We will continue to do our best to keep the home front in livable shape until the great big earthquake we have been promised comes.

Flying Blob

Ok Tom, I'll tell the people what they want to hear.
Well my flight plans right now are up in the air right
now. I'm just keeping my radar on to see what my
options are, feeling out the industry. My head is
still in the clouds from our recent marriage and I'm
just now starting to get my feet planted on the
ground.

Alright, thanks for putting up with the puns, that was
an opportunity I just couldn't pass up. I actually
get this question all the time, so I have come up with
a condensed answer because people really only care to
listen for about 30 seconds. Right now I'm a couple
months away from getting my Certified Flight
Instructors (CFI) certificate. That is if all goes
well and I study harder than I've ever done, and pass
the written test and the gruelling 8 hour checkride.
So after I have my CFI I hopefully will get hired by
UVSC to instruct so that I can build hours (airlines
don't start hiring until about 1,000 hrs and I have
about 300 hrs.), learn a lot from teaching, and make a
great resume. That whole plan will take a little over
1 year. Well as we all know now I am a married woman
and can think about having babies. I don't know what
the Lord has in store for Cory and me, but I don't
really see myself going to the airlines. I would like
to fly locally but I don't know yet what's available.
I only have life planned about a year out and a lot
can happen in a year. P.S. I hope to graduate in
Spring 2008.

Thanks for listening, I hope that answered in kind of
in a roundabout way that I have no idea what I'm doing
with my flying career. How about we put the family
fund to good use and buy the family a Lear Jet? I know
a top notch pilot who will fly that puppy for free!

I love you all,
Love, Lucy

Happy birthday Michelle!

If you have something nice to say about Michelle, you can leave a comment here. If you have something not nice to say, you can write it on the benches at the bus stop.

Birthday adventure

For my birthday Alma took me to a cool museum with a Chagall exhibit in Martigny and to a cool train park with trains you can ride near Montreux. Here's a clip of riding on the train. It was great fun. Whoohoochoochoo!

bout the bulge I mean blog

Hi Tommo,
Cory and I love the e-ewsletter. I'll try to stay
posted and thank you very much for switching our
family to the "news" century pardon the pun. Once I
figure out how to put my camera film on the super
highway, I will donate some pictures to the page.

Thanks, Lucy

Asia and Alma looking cute

A great home delivery grocery service (this saves hauling bags up a big hill and 39 stairs) that we use offered matching mommy-daughter aprons with our last purchase.
