Two weeks with Mila

Hi everyone,

Just posted some more pics of Mila. The days have flown by (not the nights) and I can't believe she's already over two weeks old. We had a wonderful first week at home with Tom on paternity leave. It was followed by a way too tiresome week-end. We partied at my high school's fair and Asia was in our town's dance recital 3 times that week-end (we took turns going to be there for all three shows). So our second week we all had sleep to catch up on, and Tom was back at work. But we managed okay. Our amazing Romanian neighbor across the hall made us dinner 4 times that week.

This past week-end Tom and Evan went to the Fathers/Sons camp-out (they came home to sleep though, even though I am pretty sure Tom would have slept better on the hard ground than in our room with Mila) and we girls had a Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses movie night. Saturday, we went to a family pool party/bbq at a local Geneva park. Sunday we all woke up with cough and colds, except for Mila. Poor Tom seems to have had it the worst, he stayed home from work today (hurray for me, no trekking around 3 kids while trying to do school drop-off and laundry downstairs).

Mila is wonderful and, being the only one to not get sick, she's a healthy little one. She is Mila-tant about eating at exactly every 3 hours, and is quickly outgrowing the tiny (for me) baby she was. She makes duck noises all night long but is still a good little sleeper. She's figured out wanting to be held all the time, but that's okay. She still looks more like Evan than Asia to me, mostly because of her cheeks and darker skin. The kids love her. Asia loves to put stuff around her, like toys and handbags. Evan loves to ask me if he can hold her right when she's about to eat or fall asleep. It's been a great two weeks at home.

We made a slight change to Mila's name. Her full name is Emilia Alma, but we'll call her Mila (pronounced Mee-lah for those still wondering). In the days getting to know her, it seemed like the full name Emilia (Spanish/Italian for Emily, meaning "to emulate") was more for her.

Bisous to all,
Alma

She is so adorable and I'm glad life is settling in a little bit. Beck says to give "those cousins" a lot of hugs.

Oh she is darling. I thought it was cute that Mila was like the backwards of Alma. I just love her already and can't wait to meet her one day.
